The cranes, whose lives depend on their flocks, move to different countries every winter. Natural and unnatural extinction of Siberian cranes are a matter of concern to global environmental organizations. Last year, only two male and female birds migrated to Iran, hoping to increase their numbers by mating. But this winter biologists only saw the male flying over Iran’s sky, which they considered evidence of the inevitable destruction of this rare species. Cranes cannot survive in solitude. LIVELY WINDS

In the Persian calendar, the last day of a leap year (کَبیسه) finishes at noon and the rest of the hours till the spring equinox - not calculated in any calendar - are called the pending time. According to Persian tradition, myth and classic literature, this time is considered a liminal period: it is run neither by rules, nor a constitution. So, for these few hours, a king would be acknowledged as a beggar; a woman could be seen as a man; and truths might be reflected as lies.

Afsoon, a struggling theater actor, returns to her home after ten years away, along with her mother, a writer who was arrested and imprisoned during the post-revolution cleansing. Mother, suffering Alzheimer's Disease, is trying to remember her life aloud. Afsoon cannot listen to Mother’s memories because she feels they portend a dark future. Meanwhile, Afsoon is introduced to a new voice-dating application that changes the users’ voices and adds sound to simulate an in-person date.
